The location was super easy to find and even though we arrived late on a Sunday evening, Dick gave us a lovely welcome. After a mini tour of reception, facilities, breakfast and our room Dick made some recommendations for food which were really appreciated as it had been a long drive. Our room had a separate dining/sitting room with fridge freezer and overhead lighting with heater, which was where we spent our evenings just reading, chatting and drinking wine. We headed out for food and thanks to the heated eating space, as well as the use of cutlery and crockery, we headed back and had a lovely relaxing couple of hours. The bed was super comfy, and shower room clean and well maintained. We stayed for 2 nights and as the first evening was so relaxing, be took food back for a second, too. This saved us money from eating in restaurants (though we'll be back to sample some!) and accidental spills in the car! We've had some stressful months lately and these 2 super relaxed evenings made a huge difference to our wellbeing. We couldn't have experienced that without the facilities provided. Breakfasts were great, too! A couple of hours after leaving I received a call to say I'd left my jacket behind. Thankfully we were only a few miles away visiting relatives, so popped back to recover. Jane's concern was hoping we'd not gone too far, knowing we lived 4 hours away - that was really kind. If we're visiting relatives in the area again, we'll definitely return. Thanks, Dick and Jane, you were lovely!

This is such a wonderful pocket of history and childhood memories. A perfect room with a small handy fridge and lovely surroundings. The service was from the past too i.e. actual proper service; with a smile with both ladies running the show so friendly, down to earth and really efficient. We had a wonderful breakfast in a fab breakfast room full of memorabilia with lots of choice of food. It had such a happy feel to it. We felt nothing we asked was too much trouble. A place for our car and a lovely area with benches to have a wonder around. Even a two seater bench right outside our room where we sat and enjoyed the sun. This would also be a great venue for an outdoor reception or party. All round a billiant formula and something very different. Highly recommended. We will be back! (If we could get in - so booked up!) 🙂

The owners were so nice and welcoming, explained everything I needed to know in details, showed me the room and always had a big smile and a loud "Good Morning" at breakfast. Rooms were not gigantic but well sized and had everything you really needed. I was travelling from Europe and I really appreciated the plug adapter, since I forgot to purchase one before travelling. Waking up in the morning and enjoying the silence, in the grass, while sipping my coffee was the best break from the city buzz. And great selection of breakfast as well: from full English to vegan.

Where to begin! My Fiancé brought me here for what I thought was a mini break. Little did I know he would propose whilst we were here! Everyone who worked here was in on it and they went above and beyond to make our stay special. The atmosphere is the most gorgeous rustic charm that is expected in this part of the country, with clean rooms, stunning gardens and one of the best breakfasts around. I could not recommend Widbrook Barns highly enough. Staying there was like joining a small community for our stay and every moment was perfect, start to finish.

The rooms were modern, comfortable and well equipped. We used the table and chairs in the dining area attached to one of our rooms to gather our group for drinks and card games. The owner went the extra mile to ensure our celebratory weekend was wonderful. The grounds are lovely and the location great as we were able to get the bus into the town and then the train to Bath . Really recommend for a group trip.
